Parents and carers of Deaf children face a unique set of challenges when it comes to communication. British Sign Language (BSL) can be a vital tool in ensuring effective communication between parents, carers, and Deaf children. However, learning BSL can be costly and time-consuming, leaving many parents and carers struggling to access this essential skill.
That’s why we’re supporting the campaign for free BSL classes for parents and carers of Deaf children. The petition, which has already garnered thousands of signatures, calls on the UK government to provide funding for free BSL classes to help parents and carers learn how to communicate with their Deaf children.
At LearnBSL, we believe that everyone should have access to BSL, regardless of their financial situation. We’re committed to making BSL learning more accessible, which is why we’re offering our Introduction to BSL course for free to parents and carers of Deaf children who want to learn this essential language.
Our Introduction to BSL course is designed to teach learners the basics of BSL, including the alphabet, numbers, and everyday vocabulary. The course is delivered online, which means that parents and carers can learn at their own pace and at a time that suits them.
If you’re a parent or carer of a Deaf child and you’re interested in learning BSL, get in touch with LearnBSL today. We’ll be happy to enrol you on our Introduction to BSL course for free.
Together, we can support the Deaf community and ensure that every child has the opportunity to communicate effectively with their parents and carers.
